CENAB UK Advocacy Group, which is a broad coalition of patriots, friends, sympathisers, political admirers who believe in Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia's leadership of Ghana in 2016, would like to congratulate the parliamentary candidates elect for the New Patriotic Party in the just ended primaries.

The just ended primaries is part of the long journey the party is taking towards Election 2016 and CENAB UK believes that it is a very crucial signpost in the journey as it will determine the focus of the party in this journey. The individual victories chalked by the candidates, represents a collective victory for the party. The tapestry of the old and new, younger and older candidates shows the determination of the party and the delegates to beef up the strength of the party and the injection of new energies at the constituency levels.

CENAB UK, would also like to congratulate delegates on their steadfastness and their vote of conscience, and most importantly, congratulations to the many supporters of the party who were not delegates themselves but made their voice of choice heard by the delegates.

We would also like to equally congratulate the candidates who participated but could not win this time, and call on them to use their experience and expertise to support the winning candidates and for that matter the party.

We wish the elected parliamentary candidates all the best as they prepare to take responsibilities for the management of the campaigning at the constituency and polling station levels. CENAB UK would like, most importantly, to appeal to them to take immediate steps to show magnanimity in victory and bring into their campaign all candidates who stood but unfortunately could not win and eschew the debilitating principle of winner takes all which is ruining our democracy.

At the national level, CENAB UK is appealing to the party leadership to close ranks immediately and begin to show leadership which at the present moment is lacking following the sad demise of Alhaji Adams Mahama and the matters that arose. The National Council and the National Executive Committee must convene as soon as possible to chart the path for leadership and direction of this party and put the party back on focus. The inability of these bodies to meet or function is affecting morale in the party and most importantly its volunteers.

We also urge the flagbearer to appoint his campaign team as soon as practicable to take full responsibility for all aspects of the campaign for Election 2016 including the formulation and implementation of the party’s strategy. At the moment the seeming disconnect between the party’s leadership and the rank and file of the party can only be mended by a strong and forward-looking campaign team.
