US-based Ghanaian Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, Capt. Ben Agyei-Odame (Rtd), has declared his intention to run for the position of 1st National Vice Chairman of NPP-USA Inc.

In a statement, Capt. Odame attributed his interest in the position to patriotism as well as dedication to the service of Ghana.

According to the staunch New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, his focus is to “avail himself” to serve the party adding that he is “committed to the NPP government’s efforts to revamp the private sector to help boost the economy, and also create job opportunities for the people.”

Capt. Agyei-Odame further stated his intention to create an effective networking and collaboration between party executives and those in positions of authority in Ghana to encourage more members in the diaspora to invest in Ghana.

He therefore, called on party members and the public, especially those in the diaspora, to vote for him to achieve his plans for the party and the nation as a whole.

Capt. Ben Agyei-Odame (Rtd) has declared his intention to run for the position of 1st National Vice Chairman of NPP-USA Inc. This Vice-Chair aspirant is a resourceful, results-oriented professional with advanced graduate-level public administration training from a National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration accredited program.

He is a team player and deep thinker, respectful, God fearing and dynamic with military experience. He has an outstanding team leadership, communication, project management, fact-finding, and research skills. He has a hands-on experience leading humanitarian relief and supporting peacekeeping missions in Africa.

He is eager to leverage his experience and advanced training to drive innovative strategies that will advance the mission of NPP-USA Inc.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ben is currently a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. As an experienced technologist, he expertly completes nuclear medicine scans; provide excellent patient care by thoroughly explaining procedures and answering patients’ questions.

Ben has been Instrumental in improving overall quality of service to patients which contributed to the department achieving a 95% rating in customer satisfaction in the Press Ganey survey. His High level of proficiency in operating the latest SPECT-CT cameras has resulted in increased daily patient schedules and improved accuracy of diagnostic studies

EARLIER CAREER NOTES:

GHANA ARMED FORCES, Military Officer-Captain;

Ben served as an Adjutant to the Commanding Officer at the 37 Military hospital. As a member of the Battalions’ Disciplinary Board, he championed strategies that resulted in improved standards of performance both in the barracks and on peacekeeping missions.

He was the battalion Humanitarian Officer in Rwanda and organized the distribution of food to over 200,000 displaced people in southwestern Rwanda, and helped thousands of displaced people in camps to locate their missing family members. Previous positions held include Platoon Commander for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Rwanda (UNAMIR) and Deputy Company Commander for West African Peacekeeping Force in Liberia (ECOMEG).

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE

Capt. Ben Agyei-Odame(Rtd) served as the chairman of the NPP-NY chapter electoral committee in 2014. He also played an active role in mobilizing logistical support to Ketu South constituency during the run-up to the 2016 general election in Ghana which saw the NPP making a positive impact in that constituency. He has worked closely with Dr.Achampong, Kwame Agyemang-Budu and all the party,executives in promoting the agenda of NPP-NY chapter.

The Vision

Capt. Odame wishes to state that after his dedicated service to mother Ghana, he wants to avail himself to serve our great party. He is committed to the NPP government efforts to revamp the private sector to help boost the economy, and also create job opportunities for the people.

He comes from Begoro in the Eastern Region (Fanteakwa District). He is married to Maywendy, and they are blessed with five children
