The UK and Ireland branch of the New Patriotic Party wishes all Ghanaians home and abroad a merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year. Christmas is a season of goodwill, peace and forgiveness and let us use this festive season to bestow all these virtues on all Ghanaians both home and abroad. The year 2006 has been challenging for us as a nation but we have been able to go through the year peacefully and successfully. Let us all welcome the new year with fervent determination to build our nation into a sustainable democracy, where individual freedoms are guaranteed and our collective responsibilities are fulfilled.

Let us all as Ghanaians resolve to support the government’s effort to create a free society, built on the foundations of good governance, free enterprise and press freedom. Let 2007 unite us all behind our nation, especially as a jubilee year when Ghana chalks fifty years as a nation. We as a nation have had so much going well for us and we have a lot to be thankful to God for over these years. Let us use the blessings of the years gone by and the hope of the years to come to guide us in thanking God for Ghana.

We as a branch Party send our love and goodwill to President Kufuor and his entire government as well as our support in their effort to build a sustainable economy for the benefit of all Ghanaians. The task of nation building is hard and supreme yet noble and rewarding. We commend them for their tolerance and determination and may these virtues be renewed and strengthened in 2007 and beyond.

We also welcome the new flag bearers of the NDC and possibly that of NPP this year into office and may they use their offices in their forthcoming campaigns to continue to build a pluralistic, inclusive society in which the intimidations of majority and fears of the minorities are allayed.

We wish our mother Party, the NPP and the sister parties the NDC, CPP and PNC both in Ghana and abroad a very happy New Year and hope that our collective new year resolutions will be to work hard to create a united nation built on the solid foundations of good governance, freedom of speech, rule of law and prudent management of the economy.

We extend our warm wishes in 2007 to all social communities in the Ghana and abroad, all press houses, businesses and especially all the associations and clubs who work hard to sustain and support groups and individuals in Ghana.

We extend our warm gratitude and greetings to the Ghana Missions abroad and wish them all the good tidings of 2007. We commend them especially for the welfare and consular support they provide for all Ghanaians who live and pass through the respective countries where they represent Ghana government.

We also wish our entire sister branch parties in the diaspora a very fruitful new year and hope that we can join in our effort to support the government in Ghana to push through programmes and agenda aimed at improving the lives of all in education, health and poverty alleviation especially of our womenfolk.
