CENAB - USA urges the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be circumspect in its deliberations regarding the murder of Adams Mahama. This tragic event must be cataract to unite our front and build a unified party to wrestle power from the NDC in 2016.

We are of the view that the murder of the Upper East Regional Chairman of our party is a criminal offense, and must be treated as such. We will entreat all fellow party members to treat those apprehended in line of police investigations as “suspects” until proven guilty of the offense by a competent court of jurisdiction. We pray on all to allow the law to take its course without any interference what so ever.

CENAB has listened to the voices making rounds about the way forward for our party. We have deeply ponder over the calls from these voices and critically interrogated the issues raised therein. However, upon a sober reflection, members of CENAB are of the view that the critical thing that matters in this whole unfortunate happenings is life. Once bitten, twice shy, they say. Having lost such a vibrant leader and pillar (Chairman Adams) within our party, CENAB expresses concerns that nothing should be done, regardless, to jeopardize another life, because human life, and for that matter members of our great party and Ghanaians at large are the most valuable assets to our party.

Considering the situation at hand, CENAB is terribly worried about the safety of our Chairman, Paul Afoko and the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong. Yesterday’s shooting incident in Tamale as confirmed by Northern Regional Police Command is an indication of the excessive fallouts that awaits our party. With the brother of the chairman of our party being a suspect, and hands point at the General Secretary and the Chairman, as having played (by the omission or commission of their actions and/or inactions) to the occurrence of the unfortunate incident, we will like to call on them to critically assess the situation, and in all thoughts, put their life first in all considerations. CENAB is of the view that the security of the Chairman and General Secretary cannot be guaranteed when duty calls in other regions from the capital. And their inability to represent the party in Bolga during the funeral of the late chairman is a classical of example such concerns. We are more worried about how they will be really free to move around without any security issues.

It is in the face of this life threatening situation that we pray on the Chairman and the General Secretary of our great party to step aside from their positions while party elders seek ways of calming tempers down in the midst of the ongoing situational irony of our party. We believe that history will judge them right when they do the honorable thing by voluntarily resigning to save the party form further rancor and brouhaha. We call on them to be the peace makers in this crucial time in the history of our party, and we will be grateful to them.

CENAB is still resolute in its mission to prosecute to its successful conclusion the ticket of Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia as president and vice president respectively, in the upcoming 2016 elections. And we will never renege on our efforts to ensure that.

At this point, we take this opportunity to offer our heartfelt condolences to the family of our beloved brother. We will continue to remind them in our prayers for God to grant them his strength at this crucial time of their life.

May the soul of Chairman Adams Mahama rest in eternal peace.

CENAB; Power!
