Finally, the Conference on Corruption is Taking Place – in Silver Spring, MD

If there is one thing most Ghanaians can agree on, whether they are members of the NDC, NPP, PPP or CPP, it is that the twin devils to our underdevelopment are Corruption and Incompetent Leadership. We sometimes use different words to describe these devils – bribery, mismanagement, lack of leadership, selfish leaders etc. but all these fall into the broad categories of Corruption and Mismanagement.

There have been literally hundreds, if not thousands, of articles written on these topics and several thousand comments and discussions in homes, offices, restaurants, etc. Ghanaians have been talking about these for as long as we have been a nation and yet it appears we are no closer to finding a solution today than we were forty or fifty years ago. Now, we all know the popular saying that one cannot expect a different result to come from doing things the same way. We have talked about corruption for a long time; we have written about corruption for a long time and these have not by themselves produced the solutions we have been seeking. The time has come for us to move to the next level – to actually do something about corruption! To this end, Ghanaians for Accountable Government (GhAG) has been formed to actually find practical working solutions to the Corruption and Mismanagement. This group is completely non-partisan and non-tribal and welcomes all Ghanaians who have the passion to see Ghana win the battle against Corruption and Mismanagement. We welcome all who believe that God has endowed us with all the resources we need to develop as a nation and make our people prosperous, and that poor leadership (read mismanagement) and corruption are the devils keeping us underdeveloped. We welcome all those who believe that this generation possesses all the qualities we need to develop and the time has come to DEMAND accountability from those entrusted to be custodians of our resources. Ghanaians for Accountable Government (GhAG) is holding its inaugural conference in Silver Spring, Maryland, on Saturday April 13, 2013. The exact address is: White Oak Community Recreation Center, 1700 April Lane, Silver Spring, MD 20904. The Conference starts at 4:00pm and ends at 8:00pm, and it will be followed by a Cocktail Dance from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. There is NO FEE for attending this conference.

Please spread the word to all your family members, friends, and co-workers. We especially strongly encourage all Ghanaians in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and the States of Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York to attend this conference. Car pool, take the train, drive, and fly to Silver Spring on Saturday, April 13, 2013! Together, we will move Ghana forward. Together, we will “put fire under the feet” of our leaders. Together, we will demand accountability from our leaders; together, we will work with all governments to stamp out corruption. Together we will strive to let Ghana take her rightful place among the prosperous nations in the world. Together, we will help our dear Ghana to fulfill its destiny as the true shining star of Africa!
