..while attending Father's Funeral
Ghanaians abroad regret to announce the untimely and mysterious death of Mr. Kofi Nti, a US resident, which occurred on September 28, 2007 on a trip home to Ghana to attend his fathers funeral (The Late Nana Obour Asante II (a.k.a. Agya Kraa) aged 102 years.
Mr. Kofi Nti was a great leader in the African diaspora and made many contributions towards the betterment of his people around the world. His life legacy is one of personal triumph and accomplishment having been the first African to attend the University of North Carolina, and later continuing his education at Texas Southern University where he received his Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA).
A humanitarian at heart and by deed, Oheneba Kofi Nti traveled around this world working very hard to ensure that man lived peacefully with his fellow man, breaking down racial and gender divides in South Africa and religious strife in Palestine and Israel, just to name a few. In all parts of the world where his influence could reach, he never hesitated to offer a helping hand to those in need.
Mr. Kofi Nti was a true child of Ghana and son of Africa. Despite his many accomplishments, he never forgot where he came from and always sought the welfare of his fellow countrymen living abroad, away from their native land. To assist in bridging the gap, he helped establish the Amansie Kuo of New York and rose through the ranks to become president, a position he proudly held for 4 years. Under his leadership, many ground making landmarks were created, giving credibility and respect to this organization to this very day.
The life and legacy of Mr. Kofi Nti gives us hope for a better world. The final funeral rites will be held on Saturday March 01, 2008 at the Cocoa House, Bronx, New York from 10 pm to 4 am. All are cordially invited.
Words simply cannot explain what a *Great Person* we have lost. He will always be remembered as the man that lived life to the fullest. His death is still under investigation, and although he is gone, he is not forgotten. He leaves behind many loved ones, including Madam Yaa Dansowah (Mother) and 4 children: Kwabena Yeboah Nti, Afua Dansowah Nti, Akua Fosuaa Nti and Yaa Twumasiwaa Nti, their Mother Jane Korsah Nti and grandson Kojo Nti.
