The club has assisted individuals and national establishments both in Ghana and abroad
After ten years of its establishment by the Founder and President, Christie Opoku (aka Yaa Asantewaa), in Toronto, the Dynamic International Charitable Association was formally inaugurated with over fifty members in the Greater Toronto Area of Canada.
The special 10th Anniversary and Inaugural function took place at the luxurious Spenraza Banquet Hall in Brampton near Toronto on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
The guest speaker for the night was Dr. Kwaku Obosu-Mensah. His keynote address was delivered by Reverend Abbah of the Ghana Anglican Church. In his address, he traced the history of the Dynamic International Charitable Association which started from Kumasi in Ghana and spread to Europe and the United States of America from where it came to Toronto in Canada.
Since its establishment, this charitable association has assisted individuals and national establishments both in Ghana and abroad where the need has been necessary. For example, the Association has provided a water tank to a hospital in Accra and a maternity ward equipment to a hospital in Kumasi. Here, in Toronto, it has contributed substantial amount of money to Sick Kids Hospital and the Ghanaian Canadian Heritage Center.
The speaker stressed the need for the public to support the Association in its fundraiser aimed at buying hospital equipment for the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
After a very sumptuous dinner, the Master of Ceremony, the veteran radio presenter, Elder Appiah Kubi of Sankofaradiotoronto launched an appeal for funds towards purchasing the hospital equipment for Ghana.
Then came the official inaugural ceremony of the Toronto Chapter (members clothed in rich kente apparel) which was performed by Chairman Joseph Acheampong.
Some members of the Toronto Chapter were later honoured by Beatrice Konadu, the hardworking Secretary of the Chapter.
In attendance that night were sister Chapters from Denver and Washington DC in the US, the President of Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario-Emmanuel Duodu, Nana Kwaku Sarpong of Brampton, some ethnic Ghanaian Associations of Toronto and other dignitaries.
