Education Is Gateway To Success – UK Envoy

H.E Mr. Isaac Osei, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the UK has said education was the inevitable key to success for tomorrow’s private as well as public sector professionals.

In a key-note address at the presentation and awards ceremony for students who recently passed out from the City of London Business College, Tottenham, Mr. Osei called on them to give their respective courses of study the needed attention to ensure that they achieved good results that would translate into effective and efficient professional performance after graduation.

To new students of the College, he said there was increasing demand for well-qualified professionals in both public services and the private sectors of the various countries of origin of students of the College and therefore, impressed on them to put in their best effort during the period of training so that they would be able to live up to their responsibilities in the society.

The High Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Isaac Osei, assisted by Miss Angela Reid, Centre Manager of Ebenezer Welfare Centre, London presented awards and certificates to deserving students.

Present were Her Worshipful, Mayoress of Haringey, Mrs Erline Prescott and Mr. Rudi Page, Managing Director of State-craft – Cultural Knowledge and Cultural Technology Management Consultancy, London and hundreds of old students of the college.

Mr Osei congratulated the College’s authorities for their vision and initiative, which had made the college one of the leading ethnic managed professional institutions in the UK.

In her address, Mayoress Prescott emphasised the need for students to set very clear goals in order to succeed in their academic and professional pursuits. She therefore, called on students to make the best of the opportunity offered by City of London Business College.

On his part, Mr. Rudi Page noted that the information technology was the future market and expatiated on the improvement in health care due to the application of information technology and information systems to the health delivery system in UK.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Principal of the College, Mr Osei A. Kwateng said the College would remain focused in its determination to provide facilities for all students especially ethnic minorities as its contribution to the development and production of professional corps of ambitious men and women for the society.

More than 50 students and tutors received awards for excellent academic as well as professional performance.

Mr. John Justice Ampofo, recipient of the Tutor of the Year Award dedicated it to his ‘Listening and dedicated students’ on the Health and Social Care GNVQ Programme.

On behalf of the students, Miss Nadine Babootie expressed the students’ appreciation to both the teaching and non-teaching staff of the College for their support and encouragement.
