On May 28, 2008 Dr. Magdalene Marfo became the first Ghanaian female physician to open a private medical practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her state-of-the art practice, CALVARY MEDICAL CLINIC, PA, is located in the University area in Charlotte. The Arbors community is pleased to welcome their new physician.
Dr. Marfo is Board Certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). She began her career at the University of Ghana Medical School. From there she made her way to the United States where she received advanced training in Internal Medicine. This, she accomplished at the New York Medical College, Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center Campus in New York City. Following that she made her way to the Carolinas where she immediately fell in love with the people and the climate and has not looked back since.
Dr. Marfo brings with her eight years of experience working in the Carolinas. Her outstanding bed-side manners and genuine concern for her patients led many of them to inquire about how they could follow up with her on a regular basis. Nursing staff and colleagues alike urged her on. It was on these premises that Dr. Marfo decided to open up Practice in the University of Charlotte area. She feels honored and privileged to be a part of this growing community and looks forward to providing quality health care to its residents and beyond.
