Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko number one goalkeeper, Osei Boateng says he is doing well in the United Kingdom where he has been based since being transfer-listed by his club some two months ago.

Speaking to the Soccer Express in a telephone conversation yesterday Boateng who was transfer-listed by the Interim Management Committee of Kotoko after the FA had confirmed a one-year ban imposed on him for attacking a Maxbees player after a league game at Koforidua last year said though life in the UK is not easy he is coping quite well.

The silver-medallist at last year's African Cup Winners Cup says he has since his arrival started working part time to raise some money for himself even though he declined to mention exactly what job he is doing.

Asked if he had been playing soccer at any level at all in order to stay trim while he serves his ban, Boateng said he was so distraught when he received news of the confirmation of his ban as well as Kotoko's decision to transfer-list him that he left the country without any of his kit.

"At the time I wanted to forget about soccer for a while. The pain was too difficult to bear, but I have now requested that all my kit which I left at my apartment in Kumasi should be sent to me so I can play some soccer in my locality," he told the Soccer Express.

Boateng said he has been in constant touch with his former colleagues and is very much aware of the goings-on in Ghana soccer.
