The New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for Adenta constituency in the Greater Accra Region ,member of the NPP Election 2012 communications team, and one of Ghana’s advocates for women’s rights and creating more opportunities for women in politics, Madam Frances Awurabena Essiam will be in the UK from Friday 19th October, to Thursday 25th October at the invitation of Adenta residents who come from Adenta and its environs, and have or rent homes in the area, own businesses, schools, charities that help the poor, and are currently residing in the UK ,who believe and support her candidacy .She will also meet members of the Ghanaian community in the UK as well as NPP UK executives members and supporters in the UK.
Frances Essiam needs no introduction to modern Ghana politics. A former NDC National Women’s Organiser, she became disillusioned with the lack of internal democracy and the violent fascist direction the NDC was heading and left the party. She and other former disillusioned NDC members formed the DFP .She later joined the NPP and campaigned vigorously for it in the 2008 elections. She is one of the most experienced women in Ghanaian politics today and one of NPP best campaigners. She is tried and tested.
Adenta is one of the fastest growing municipalities in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana and boasts a diverse and cosmopolitan background. It has massive potential to be a hub of commercial activity ,creativity and enterprise north of our capital however poor leadership, division and lack of a clear action plan from the current NDC Member of Parliament Adu Asare and his colleagues is stifling development in the area leading to frustration, disillusionment and anger and disappointment. The current MP Mr Adu Asare and the NDC government led by President John Mahama have failed to create opportunities to solve the current problems of sexual health and teenage pregnancy, joblessness among the youth, lack of completion of transport projects ,water shortages and poor sanitation. Even Mr Adu Asare has been rejected by his own NDC party to seek re-election on their ticket due to his abject failure!
Adenta can no longer remain in mediocrity and things must change. Madam Frances Essiam brings to the table what is missing from the current NDC parliamentary regime and which we will not get from their new candidate Ashie Moore. Peace, Unity ,Development , Discipline, Diligence, Drive, and a Determination to get things done. Frances, the humble and God-fearing woman that she is has a clear vision of how she will work with local residents ,the business community, traditional leaders, various social groups, churches, mosques, school authorities, artisans, the local transport unions and traders of Adenta to solve once and for all the water shortages, sanitation problems, joblessness, transport gridlock ,sexual health issues and other bread and butter issues that are affecting the local people. She will share this exciting vision during her meetings and interactions with the local Ghanaian Press ,party members and adenta residents living in the UK.
Enough is Enough lets say no to John Mahama, Adu Asare, Ashie Moore and the NDC team B that have spent the last 4 years just talking, building castles in the air and doing nothing for us. Its time for transparent and accountable leadership, its time for action and its time for Adenta to vote Nana Addo as President and Frances Essiam as Member of Parliament to move Adenta and Ghana Forward.
