A 22-year-old Ghanaian in Philippines is behind bars after going amok and biting a man Wednesday on Taft Avenue, Manila.

The Ghana national who has adopted the name Ib Yung of Unit 7-H Avida Towers in Sta. Cruz, Manila, also managed to push and kick the arresting policemen from the Mobile Patrol Unit, who responded when sought for help by victim Rolando Soriano, 25.

Police said the suspect also made it difficult for the responding cops to arrest him after he went underneath the mobile car, according to the Journal.

The incident occurred at 1 a.m. at the corner of Taft Avenue and Finance Road in Ermita, Manila. The victim was passing by when the suspect suddenly grabbed him by the hand and bit him in the left arm.

Startled, the victim shouted for help and ran away but the suspect chased him. While running, the victim came across PO3 Ulysses San Diego of the said patrol unit and sought assistance.

The cop collared the suspect, who was shirtless, after a brief chase. Once already sober at the police station, the suspect reportedly asked the police not to inform his embassy about what he had done.

Charges of alarm and scandal, resisting arrest and physical injury were filed against the suspect before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
