Ghanaian Appointed Commissioner on African Affairs

Annapolis, Maryland --- Former Ghanaian television presenter, Mr. Frederick Nnoma-Addison, was yesterday appointed Commissioner on African Affairs in Maryland, United States, by the state’s governor, Martin O’Malley. In this role Mr. Nnoma-Addison will work with the governor, government and private institutions, and other leaders to address needs specific to the African Diaspora community in the state of Maryland. He will also work to strengthen relations between the state of Maryland and African institutions, diplomatic missions, communities, and organizations both in the United States and in Africa.


In his commission citation presented to him at the State House, the Governor commended Mr. Nnoma-Addison for his dedication to public service and applauded him for his leadership and notable national record.

Mr. Nnoma-Addison is a journalist and media consultant and the author and publisher of two commemorative books, The United States and Ghana, and The United States and Nigeria. He is the CEO of AMIP News (www.amipnewsonline.org), the only U.S. media organization dedicated to U.S. and Africa relations, and frequently covers high profile Africa-related news in Washington, DC. Prior to this position he worked with Discovery Communications, parent company of the Discovery Networks at the company’s world headquarters in Maryland. Mr. Nnoma-Addison worked with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in the early nineties as a television presenter.
