We will like to draw you attention about ? GORA ?. That is; Ghanaian Overseas Residents Association.
This Association was found in Switzerland and aim at bringing together all Ghanaians in the Diaspora in other that they would have a unified voice to express their concern and interest, co-operate with government institutions in other to contribute to bring concrete changes into Ghanaian set-up, participate actively in development projects in Ghana, take concrete part in the building up of their motherland.
Ghanaians in the Diasporas have ever since been preoccupying themselves with development issues in Ghana and how they could contribute effectively and efficiently to it. And as individuals, groups and association they send money, useful materials and many other things back home to assist in this development race. This yeaning desire which has become paramount in the minds of all Ghanaians in Diasporas needs to be re-channeled in other that our efforts bear its desire fruits. GORA has national objectives. It is non political, non tribal/ethnic, non religious organization.
We diasporians, according to statistics, contribute more that 1.3 billion dollars as remittances every year into Ghanaian economy. Not only we stand a strong financial force for the nation, we have also acquire outstanding professional skills, knowledge and divers experiences and these are being use to develop the western nations. We aim to redirect these back home.
Work has far advanced in Switzerland for the inauguration of GORA. We are mobilizing international opinion leaders, Medias and any other body that yearn to help our country come out of the poverty visual circle that it finds it self.
