Paulina Mefia Denteh, a recent graduate in general medicine from Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University, has made history as the first Ghanaian, African, and female foreigner to receive the prestigious red diploma from the university.

In a recent Instagram post, Paulina expressed her gratitude and excitement: "Receiving my red diploma from the Rector of Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University was a truly humbling experience. I am honoured to be the first female black student to achieve this milestone. This journey has been one of perseverance and dedication, and I am excited for what the future holds as I continue to make an impact in healthcare."
Paulina’s journey began at the Methodist Senior High School in the Eastern Region, where she is reported to have displayed exceptional academic prowess, despite the school's limited science facilities.
She played a pivotal role in founding the school’s first robotics team and was a key member of the inaugural National Science and Maths Quiz team, demonstrating her early passion for science and technology.
The report added that her pursuit of higher education led her to Russia, where she embarked on a rigorous academic journey at Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University.

Throughout her medical studies, Paulina excelled academically and served as a teaching assistant from her fourth year until graduation, earning recognition for her contributions to the university community.
"Paulina’s groundbreaking achievement as the first Black and female foreigner to receive a red diploma in the university’s history is a source of immense pride and inspiration.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Paulina is leading an innovative project aimed at addressing long queues and limited access to doctors in Ghana.
Her initiative involves developing an AI-backed platform that enables patients to communicate with doctors anytime and from anywhere, potentially transforming healthcare delivery both locally and globally.
