DR. MENSAH PRESENTS EMINENT AWARD TO LISA JACKSON VICE PRESIDENT OF GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES AT APPLE CORPORATION
The MAC Eminent Engineers Forum, of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers recognized three leading Engineers, at the San Francisco Annual Meeting. Dr. Levi Thompson, Professor of Chemical Engineering at University of Michigan, Dr. Yusif Adewuyi, Prof of Chemical. and Biomolecular Engineering at North Carolina & T University, and the Hon Lisa Jackson Vice President of Global Environmental Initiatives at the Apple Corporation.
Ms. Jackson is shown receiving the Plaque and the Award from Dr. Thomas Mensah, Fellow of AIChE and Co-Chairman of the 2013 Eminent Engineers Forum.
Ms. Lisa Jackson was honored for her trailblazing leadership in Environmental Pollution Management. The Chairman of Apple Corporation, Tim Cook selected Ms. Jackson to head the Global Environmental Technology for the Company, a world leader in the Internet, and Electronic Computing space. Apple Corporation, located in Silicon Valley, California is known worldwide for innovations like the I Phone, I Pad, Mac, etc.
Prior to moving to Apple Inc, Ms. Jackson was nominated and confirmed to lead the United States Environmental Protection Agency for four years, the first African American head of the Agency since its creation.
The MAC Eminent Chemical Engineering Forum was founded by Dr. Thomas Mensah, one of the key Inventors of Fiber Optics in the United States in 2008., to show case the Significant Accomplishments of Minorities, within the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
The panelist at the Eminent Forum addressed engineering topics like Shale Oil and Gas Fracturing Technology development in the United States and the Environmental Impact of such technologies on the US Economy.
Previous recipients of the Eminent Chemical Engineers Award include, Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African American woman in Space, Mr. Otis Shelton, President Elect of AIChE, Dr. Cato Laurencin, MD from Harvard, Mr. Henry Brown, Polaroid Corporation, and Dr. Thomas Mensah, Fiber Optics Innovator from Kumasi , Ghana.
