Ghanaian traveller dies at Ghana-Togo border

Aflao, Feb. 20, GNA - A male adult Ghanaian traveller collapsed and died at the Togolese side of the Ghana/Togo border at Aflao on Tuesday. An identity card found on the deceased bore the name David Yao Kumadza, a staff of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) based in Kusi in the Eastern Region.

Mr Baba Moro, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in charge of crime at Aflao told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the deceased who was alone, was said to be about to eat some food he had bought from the roadside when he collapsed.

He said the incident happened at about 1400 hours but could not tell whether the deceased was on his way out of Ghana or was returning from Togo.

Mr Moro said the CSIR had been informed of the incident for them to contact the family of the deceased whose body was being kept by the Togolese border security at the General Hospital in Lome.
