Sekondi, March 19, GNA- Dr Kwesi Aggrey, the Vice Provost of the Ramapo College of New Jersey in the United States of America, has called on Ghanaians living outside the country to use their expertise and contacts to support the country's development programme.
He said the acquisition of wealth, knowledge, prestige and social contacts in developed countries, should be translated into this country.
Dr. Aggrey made the call after presenting 22 computers and their accessories and two sets of encyclopaedia to the Fijai Secondary School at Fijai on Wednesday.
He said Ghanaians living in other countries should not forget the benefits their respective schools, communities and country did for them in education.
Dr. Aggrey, an old student of the school said the discipline and knowledge he acquired at Fijai had greatly assisted him in all his endeavours adding, "this donation is meant to say thank you to Fijai". He said the donation of computers was meant to facilitate the teaching of computer studies in the school and to keep the students abreast with the latest in the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) industry.
Mr. James Hamilton Rhule, Headmaster of the school expressed his appreciation to Mr. Aggrey for the items, adding that "it was timely". Mr. Rhule said the school's computer science class, would be better equipped to provide adequate computer training for all the students.
