A 45-year old Ghanaian business man in China George Obou says, Ghanaians in China are now proud and happy than ever before.

He indicated that the state visit by President Mills to China which also afforded them to fete and interact with their President is historical. ‘’No Ghanaian President had ever visited China in previous years and met with the Ghanaian community’’ George Obou stated.

According to him the visit by the President had made Ghanaians who had travelled to China for different reasons ‘’very proud, happy and delighted’’ it was significant in the sense that we have a ‘father who cares for his ‘children’ wherever they are. He submitted.

George Obou said these in an interview with Radio Gold after President Mills had met with the Ghanaian community in Beijing China recently when he went on a five day state visit, to consolidate the already good relations between Ghana and China and also an opportunity for the two countries to strengthen their cooperation ad partnership to mutual benefit.

He said, Ghanaians in China felt disappointed and dejected when previously President Kufuor visited Beijing but refused to meet with the Ghanaian community. ‘’we heard president Kufuor was in China but we did not see him, whether he knew we exist or not was not his problem, but now President Mills have planted long lasting joy in our hearts and we than him very much’’ George noted.

President Mills and his delegation addressed the Ghanaian community after which questions and opinions were shared.

The Ghanaian business man in China who said he has been in China for some nine years now, urged Ghanaians to lay aside the politics if vindictiveness and live in peace, love and unity. He said ‘’let us all support President Mills t deliver on the better Ghana agenda. George stated.

He congratulated Ghana’s ambassador to China Helen Mamle Kofi for her efforts to transforming and removing the bottlenecks that made it difficult for Ghanaians living in China to fully cooperate with the embassy under the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said if the current relationship between the Ghanaian community and the embassy are maintained and enhance it will allow for more investors into Ghana.
