Ghanaman in Japan: Me/I

Sun, 8 May 2005 Source: Mahmud Issah

I went to Japan in the early 90s. Luckily for me I got a job about two weeks later. My boss always pointed at his nose any time he talked. Actually, I was a bit embarassed thinking he meant i stink. I later realised that, in Japan, when one referes to himself in a conversation, they point to their nose unlike in Ghana where u place your palm on your chest for that same meaning.
