The International Convention People’s Party Forum (ICPPF) IS ESTABLISHED -- COME ON BOARD

The executive committee of the International Convention People’s Party Forum, Germany (ICPPF) is delighted to announce its establishment as a non-profit political forum.

ICPPF is a special Forum open to everyone who subscribes to the ideals and best traditions of the Convention People’s Party (CPP). This Forum is not another Party in CPP.

ICPPF was created to offer a forum for the formation and exchange of ideas for the CPP, discussion of economic, political and cultural issues of relevance to CPP´s developmental endeavour in Ghana.

The aims behind the document are very clear: Fellow countrymen, it gives us great pleasure to be here and to inform you today that, at long last our dream for a true democracy in Ghana will finally materialize with the creating of the International Convention People’s Party Forum. It is our unreserved duty as Ghanaians in the Diaspora and at home to ensure that it is “Organization” that takes it all. Our Party, the (CPP), can be made viable to win elections if we focus on organisation. Those of us in the Diaspora will as well have to organize ourselves to face the challenges.

The Strength of the Enemy

Fellow countrymen, we say therefore that, just as our strength lies in a unified policy and action for progress and development in Ghana, so lay the strength of the enemy in our disunity. And—“Unless we meet this obvious and very powerful threat with a unified African front, based upon a common economic and defence policy, the strategy will be to pick us off and destroy us one by one”. The political discontent, the tribal wars, the military coups, the corruption, the poverty, the sickness in Ghana and in Africa, as a whole is evidence to this, ladies and gentlemen.

We cannot battle against the tsunamic currents of market fundamentalism in the public sphere for now. For strategic reasons, we need to shift our focus to winning the image and not winning the battle for ideas. CPP can do this by championing the rhetoric of economic nationalism within the framework of market economy. We can win this battle for the image not by being bookish and theoretically inane, but by being pragmatic and learning to package our rhetoric.

Organization takes it all.

We the organizers of this Forum are of the opinion that, CPP can only be revived through proper Organization. Our mission is to ensure that CPP is established worldwide. We are aware that Unity can only be achieved by dialogue, and not by force. CPP must put his own house in order. The grassroots organization in the Diaspora will be inevitable. This forum will be represented in Ghana. The forum shall consist of specialists who will work on documents needed for development in the party’s policies on: agriculture, education, science and technology, administration, religion, culture, law, politics, medicine, trade, economy, infrastructure, etc. A modern office will be established to run the affairs of the forum. Ghanaians in the Diaspora likewise those in Ghana who are registered as CPP members will have access to this office. This office will coordinate all matters relating to the Diaspora issues in collaboration with the CPP head office in Accra. The officers will be mandated to have direct contacts to all aspirants and future ministers. They will as well have direct contact to all international agencies, regimes, personalities, friends of Kwame Nkrumah, and recognised NGO´s worldwide who have the interest to support CPP and Nkrumah’s ideas aimed at liberating Ghana once again from neo-colonialism. They shall work hand-in-hand with CPP leadership in monitoring the parties policies enacted in its constitution and manifesto to ensure that whatever is said or done by their leaders, are in conformity with what was preached to the electorate before and after elections. They shall ensure that the party’s functionaries and leaders are held responsible for their iniquities.

This Forum will be developed to serve as an international platform for communication. It shall act as a mouthpiece for Ghanaians in the Diaspora. Members will have the opportunity to debate on issues relevant to the image of the Convention People’s Party only. Consensus reached will be transmitted to its office for transmission to the head office. This Forum will however welcome people from all sorts of life whose aim and objectives are not to spy or to sabotage our efforts, but to help rebuild the Convention People’s Party and its structures. Only registered members (or otherwise stated), can register with this Forum. The rules and regulations governing this International Forum will then be made available to applicants who declare their intention to be part of the struggle aimed at bringing back the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and the vision of Kwame Nkrumah.

Our mission:

? Establishing a clearly recognised set of objectives; ? Providing a structured framework for organizational activities; ? Assessing performance against agreed criteria; ? Evaluating achievements and undertaking self and external assessments; ? Helping key Party functionaries and organs to know what is expected of them and how to carry out specific tasks to achieve the Party’s objectives; ? Targeting resources to achieve maximum benefits for the Party; ? Reviewing the parties policies and strategies and providing meaningful alternatives; ? Ensuring that political party functionaries are held responsible for telling lies to the people.
