Inventor of Fibre Optic introduces General Motors' Executive VP

Dr. Thomas Mensah, The World Renowned Inventor of Fibre Optics and a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors was at the annual meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers held in October 2017.

Among the noted personalities invited to speak at the Eminent Chemical Engineers Forum was Ms Alicia Boler Davis, Executive Vice President, General Motors Global Manufacturing.

Ms Davis spoke on the Smart Manufacturing Technology at General Motors. Ms Davis showed how Smart Manufacturing is important for improving car manufacturing efficiencies throughout all GM factories around the world.

Dr. Thomas Mensah on the other hand, spoke on the new internet of things and the industrial internet for smart manufacturing.

He showed a smartwatch that can control home appliances like the television. This smartwatch can change television channels by simply waving your hand in front of the television set.

Ms Davis received the Eminent Engineer Award for 2017 presented by T. Bond Calloway, President of AICHE at the annual meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers in Minneapolis MN.

Other Award winners this year include; Tim Odi of Chevron Phillip Company and Ms Felicia Diana Nave, Provost Prairie View University.

The MAC Eminent Forum was created by Dr Mensah. Previous awardees include Lisa Jackson VP Apple and Dr Mae Jemison first African American Female Astronaut.
