Joint commission of Ghana and Malta meets for the first time

The ministry for foreign affairs hosted the first session of a technical joint commission between Malta and Ghana.

The meeting was held within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries on the 26th September 2014 at the margins of the 69th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

A delegation of officials from the foreign affairs ministry and the high commission of the Republic of Ghana, as well as tourism, education, home affairs and family ministry officials, took part in this meeting.

The two sides agreed on several proposals to be implemented in the coming months.

“The proposals that will contribute to enhancing and developing bilateral relations and increasing exchanges, experiences and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture and tourism, education, migration and police cooperation in border control, adoptions and investment cooperation,” a government statement reads.

The high commissioner of the Republic of Ghana, Kenneth Enos Kofi Tachie highlighted the importance of having more frequent exchanges between both countries at the political and economic levels as well as by the private sector, with a view to identify opportunities aimed at enhancing cooperation and collaboration between the two countries
