The Kennedy 2008 Team this weekend, Saturday, 9th December, 2008 organized a fund-raiser for his NPP presidential bid campaign in Atlanta.
I drove to Atlanta FROM Charlotte, NC on Saturday and arrived at the conference grounds at approximately 6:00 pm. This made me the first person to arrive at the fund raising site to give full account of the event. I stayed through the morning and drove back same day. I had the opportunity to record his entire speech and questions and responses and shall provide analysis and full report in another posting.
For now I say everything was great. There were many people in attendance and the food was excellent. I must comment the Kennedy 208 Atlanta team and the other organizers for their excellent job with all the decorations and presentation. I was impressed.
Indeed Saturday night was a very memorable occasion. Mrs. Kennedy was even there to grace the occasion. You ought to be there. Most of Kennedy's responses at question time were the great moments. He had at least three standing ovations for putting out visions and ideas to move Ghana into a middle income state. I must admit many who had never met Kennedy and had always been his critic and maintained that Kennedy had no or little chance left the grounds with a new perspective of Kennedy in 2008.
Kennedy leaves for Ghana in February 2008 for good to embark on a full campaign trail and therefore asks Ghanaians in the Diaspora to support him financially in taking his message of hope to Ghanaians.
In his speech Kennedy outlined his vision for Ghana and how to execute those visions and ideas. It was clear at the question time that Kennedy was fully prepared to risk his highly income profession in the USA to help our nation transform into a middle income state in the next decade.
Some of the guests in attendance were supporters of other candidates yet they seemed convinced at the end of the question time that if there was one candidate among the many with a vision to move Ghana in the right direction that is more likely to be the kind of Kennedy's caliber.
I captured almost the entire event and shall be ready to give a more detailed and analysis of Kennedy's message soon as soon as I am able to review the tape. So stay in tune.
