Kofi Attor's Meets with NDC USA Member Branches

INTERNATIONAL COORDINATOR OF NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS MEETS WITH MEMBERS OF NDC USA

Mr. Kofi Attor, the International Coordinator of foreign chapters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC, Ghana) during a visit to the USA met with and conferred with branch membership and leaders of NDC USA. Hon. Attor’s visit, which commenced on June 3rd, and ended on June 18th, 2012, saw him visiting and inaugurating the newly elected branch executives of the Washington DC Metro branch of NDC, and attending a general meeting of the NDC New York Branch, in Bronx, New York among other activities.

Speaking at the swearing in ceremony of the newly-elected executives of NDC Washington Metro Branch, on Sunday, June 10th, Mr. Kofi Attor recounted events leading to the formation of NDC and how many members of the party played significant roles which helped the party arrive at several important decisions such as the party’s symbol, name, colors, stated ideology and philosophy of the party. During the event, party members marked the 22nd anniversary of the founding of the party. The event was graced by the presence of Ghana’s deputy ambassador to the U.S.A., Her Excellency Mrs. Edith Hazel. Other NDC leaders who were at the event include Prof. Agyenim Boateng (Chairman, NDC USA), Prince Evar Agyeman (Vice Chairman, NDC USA), Alhaji Abass Adamu (Vice Chairman, NDC USA), Mad. Hafsata Yakubu (Women’s Organizer, NDC USA), Mr. Ed Kraku (Deputy Organizer, NDC USA) and Mr. Charles Kpodzo (Deputy Secretary, NDC USA).Alhaji Abdul Aziz Shaibu an elder in the New York NDC Community was also present.

The Newly elected executives of NDC Washington DC Metro branch are Mr. Charles Kpodzo (Chairman), Angela Anim-Yankah (Vice Chairperson), Francis Agbodzah (Secretary), Frederick Johnson (Deputy Secretary), John Feddy (Treasurer), Georgina Agbemave (Deputy Treasurer) Daniel Baiden (Financial Secretary), Evans Asigbee (Organizer), Alexander Ayensu (Deputy Organizer), Betty Kudoto (Women Organizer), Helena Yeboah (Deputy Women Organizer), Kafui Agbo (Welfare Officer), Bright Kumawu ( Assistant Welfare Officer), Lawrence Appiah-Osei (Publicity/Public Relations Officer),and Mike Artcher (Youth Organizer). The elections were organized by Mr. Francis Ameyaw.

During his meeting with the general membership of the NDC New York branch, on Sunday June 17th, Hon. Kofi Attor counseled members to work together to forge an even more united front for the party. He intimated that the chances of the NDC during the coming general elections remains very bright, giving the many developmental projects that have been already executed under the “Better Ghana agenda”. He indicated that this plethora of developmental projects continue to positively impact the lives of Ghanaians in their communities, hence his deep conviction and faith that the majority of Ghanaians will vote for the Mills led administration in the forthcoming elections in order that even more projects will be completed.

On Sunday, June 17th, Hon. Attor met with the New York Branch was graced by NDC USA executives such as Alhaji Abass Adamu, (Vice Chairman, NDC USA), Osborne K Sam, (Secretary, NDC USA) Mr. S. B Agyapong (Organizer, NDC USA), Mr. Ed Kraku (Deputy Organizer) and Mad. Grace Imo (Deputy Women’s Organizer). New York Executives present included Mr. Albert Mensah (Vice chairman, NDC New York), Mr. Musah Fatawu (NDC New York Organizer) and Mr. Abdul Ganiyu, deputy Secretary, NDC New York. Mr. Emmanuel Badu, former NDC parliamentary candidate of Ejisu Juaben Constituency was also at the meeting. Alhaji Aziz Shaibu and Alhaji Abdul Salam leaders of the Zongo Caucus were also present.

Honorable Kofi Attor also visited with NDC branch in Denver, Colorado, and held phone conferences with the executives of NDC Illinois and NDC Georgia branches.

The leadership of NDC USA is deeply appreciative of the efforts of the Honorable Kofi Attor as well as all others who continue to encourage the organization’s rank and file to the end of building a strong community of NDC supporters in the USA.
