In very strong yet emotional words, the Ghanaian community leaders in Toronto and the family of Jenas Nyarko who was killed in a drive-by shooting near her apartment building in Toronto last Sunday, have appealed to the perpetrators of such hideous crime to surrender to Police before they are ‘fished out!’

The appeal was made at a press conference on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Pentecost Church of Canada a day after Jenas Nyarko, a 31 year-old Ghanaian who was a Social Worker with one of the Shelters in Toronto had been shot dead.

Those who spoke to the press during the event included Mr. Seshi who is the Consul General of Ghana in Toronto, the President of the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario (GCAO), Mr. Duodu, Pastor Quainoo on behalf of the Ghanaian Ministerial Association of Toronto and other GCAO Executives-Nana Nti of the Youth Wing and Mr. Brako of the Communications Dept. Also present was Pastor Kwame Brobbey of the Toronto Ghanaian Seventh-day Adventist Church as well as some friends of the deceased.

Earlier, the Aunte of Jenas had passionately appealed to the authorities to bring the killers of her niece to book not only to bring disclosure but peace of mind to the family since nothing could bring Jenas back to life.

It must be noted here that an earlier report in the media that Jenas was shot at the funeral she had attended on Saturday at the Pentecost Church was false. Jenas was shot after she had left the funeral in the company of her friends early Sunday morning.
