Fri, 8 Mar 2013 Source: Concerned Ghanaian Citizens

We are glad to announce that Concerned Ghanaians resident in the USA will organise a mass demonstration on Friday March 15, 2013 in Washington DC. The venue for the Demonstration is Lafayette Park, North East Quadrant and the White House Sidewalk, starting from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm EST.

The theme for the demonstration is: “Don’t Make Mockery of Ghana’s Democracy, Let My Vote Count”.

Fellow Ghanaians and our international sympathisers, Ghana’s democracy has been arrested with the recent electoral fraud in respect of the 2012 elections in which the NDC/Mahama, with the open connivance of Afari–Gyan’s EC, manipulated the electoral figures to fraudulently hijack the sovereign will of the people. Had it not been the political maturity of the opposition leadership that challenged the results in Court, Ghana would havebeen on a slippery slope to political instability. We encourage all to help contribute to peace and stability, re-establish true democracy in Ghana by joining the demonstration to register your protest against fraudulent elections.

Theobjectives of the "Don’t Make Mockery of Ghana’s Democracy: Let My Vote Count" demonstration with regards to the electoral court case are:

1. To bring awareness to our partners and the larger international community the impending electoral challenge of the 2012 elections at the Supreme Court of Ghanathe Supreme Court of Ghana

2. To inform the international community that the court case has the potential of setting a democratic path for most African countries and their leaders regarding resolution of electoral irregularities and disputes in court instead of resorting to conflicts or bring Ghana to thebrink of civil strive and violence.

3. To ask the international community to haveadequate interest in the case and ensure that the judicial process would meetinternational legal standards

4. To assure and inform the Justices of the Ghana Supreme Court to adjudicate the case in a fair manner without fear for theirlives and/or that of their families

We invite all peace-loving Ghanaians and international sympathisers to attend the demonstration in their numbers and help shape the democratic destiny of Ghana.
