We live in a fast-paced world where everyone is busy with their own lives and nobody has the time to help, teach and encourage one another.

Volunteering and networking can be seen as interchangeable to the essence of life to serve others and connecting or linking wherever and whenever is possible or necessary as recorded in Acts 20:35:

“in everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of Jesus himself saying; it is more blessed to give than receive’’.

There is a tremendous strength growing in the world through the area of sharing, praying and working together.

Doing social work enhances your resume and enriches you as a person by giving you an outlook towards living.

Again, it helps you to appreciate the efforts of those working for a cause and makes you grateful for everything you have.

Perez Chapel Amsterdam women's ministry under the leadership and guidance of Mrs. Harriet Ankomah envision and foresee as necessary to organize a day's workshop with Venzo Amsterdam to enlighten, educate and inspire women within Perez Chapel and its environs on how relevant volunteering can improve their skills and networking in order to upgrade their professions as well as opening new opportunities.

The theme for the workshop was dubbed, “Developing your career through networking and volunteering” which Mrs. Harriet Ankomah affirms to the fact that economic outruns and shoot-up through agile industrialization, constant technological advancement, and enhanced managerial skills or climbing the corporate ladder can indeed be daunting and overwhelming for many, hence; the feeling of insecurity and timidity.

“Volunteering can give you a push to learn and upgrade your skills on the job within a specific period of time while you connect with the right people in the industry”, Mrs. Harriet Ankomah remarked.

Mrs. Dorien Groeneveld from Venzo Amsterdam explains into details the numerous advantages of volunteering by stressing on the importance of being connected or linking- up with the right people, gaining the ability and assistance in order to master on the job as well as attaching to the right and important people in a specific.

According to madam Dorien, engaging in volunteering activities helps the volunteer to develop social skills which cannot be acquired or learned in a classroom and helping others for free is what makes an individual a unique person within a society.

Madam Dorien clarifies that volunteering can lead you to build strong relationships with the vital and central people within your dream industry. “Volunteering brings out an individual true identity and personality; it tells people who you are, what you like doing, and improves your personal and social skills as you meet a wide variety of people from all sorts of life”. Mrs. Dorien Groeneveld concluded.

To this end, participants expressed their joy and excitement, and they were grateful to the organizers for a fruitful workshop, which Mrs. Harriet Ankomah assured and pledged to the women and the entire church of such unique programs and events in order to bring out the best of church members so that God’s name will be glorified and uplifted in highness as corroborated in 1 Peter 4:10 “each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms”.

Mama Harriet urged church members to keep in mind of the up-coming “ladies all night” under the theme “ARISE” which is slated for 16th of November.
