NPP Seattle was graced with the presence of Honorable Member

of Parliament of Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong on Saturday

March 12, 2016. This was the first time the Honorable member

was in the evergreen state. The forum was well attended,

although it had a late start. It was held at the Covington public

library conference room, in Covington, Washington.

The chairman of NPP Seattle, Mr. Phil Asamoah, opened

the

forum by welcoming everyone and gave a brief history of NPP

Seattle. He stated that the goal of NPP Seattle is to bring all NPP

sympathizers in Washington State and the entire Northwest

together to form a unified front to assist the party in the

upcoming elections in Ghana. The chairman further stated that, Washington State has unique

opportunities over the other states, in that the state can boast of some giant global business enterprises

like Boeing, Microsoft, Costco, Amazon, Starbucks, and others. NPP Seattle could initiate and foster

mutual relationships between Ghana and those global powerhouses when NPP is voted into office. Such

partnerships will help make Ghana great again, referring to the days of J A. Kuffour.

The secretary of NPP Seattle, Dr. Michael Newmann-Godful, who also moderated the forum, also shared

with the group that, the leadership will launch a special program called “Operation 1000 Pooling

Agents” at the end of March 2016. The goal of the program is to recruit about one thousand eligible

Ghanaians living abroad who are willing to volunteer as pooling agents for NPP in November. Further

details could be obtained by calling (206-250-3737 or 206-249-2159).

The Honorable MP, Kennedy Agyapong took his turn at the podium and delivered an unscripted speech

that wowed the audience. In his usual maverick style, he stated that gross incompetence in

management of the nation’s resources has crippled every sphere of Ghanaian life. While Ghanaians are

suffering, the NDC government is only interested in how to steal the elections again. The NDC has

resorted to sowing seeds of discord among tribes. He cited that, the NDC has a well formulated regionspecific

10-point diabolical strategy that is being peddled by its campaigners across the country,

especially in the rural communities. The goal is to pit one tribe against the rest to incite hatred, division

and unnecessary tension in the country. According to the plan, for instance, when they go to the north,

their message is that Ashantis consider northerners as inferior people. The message for easterners is

that the Ashanti kingdom disrespects the Akyem people and their leadership. While in parts of western

and central regions they pit the Denkyiras against the Ashantis, and similar things are going on in the

rest of the regions. These are all dirty political tactics that are incendiary, unnationalistic, uncouth, and

divisive.

In one instance the MP cited how NDC plotted to fabricate a story to accuse Nana Addo of murdering his

wife about twenty plus years ago. That lie was manufactured from the board room of the NDC to

destroy Nana Addo. He asserted that Ghanaians must watch out for another drama in the Affoko saga.

The NDC is working behind the scene through the corrupt judiciary system to have Affoko reinstated as

the chairman of NPP, in the heat of the campaign. The goal is to start another round of internal

wrangling within the NPP. The MP stated that Ghanaians must not pay attention to the accusations NDC

makes about Nana Addo, because it is, in fact, their modus operandi. It is well known that NDC has

expertise in stealing elections to stay in power, but highly incompetent in governing. The MP continued

that NDC’s incompetence should not be treated as a mere campaign slogan, in fact, it is real and its

effects are staggering. President Mahama is usually off work at 3pm, and from there it is all about

boozing and womanizing, the MP intoned. Mahama has no clue whatsoever in the real state of the

country. Some of his own close aides have hinted out of good conscience that the country must be

saved from the NDC.

On the electoral process, the MP stated that the electoral commission has become both a player and a

referee, and it is literally in bed with NDC. He advised that Ghanaians must not give the verdict to the

electoral commission to decide because the will of the people will not be affirmed.

The commission, as it

exists now, is serving personalities and not the nation. On what NPP is doing to counter such

irresponsibility from the commission, the vibrant MP stated that the party is taking vigilance to a whole

new level this time. There are many plans the party leadership has in place which cannot be divulged to

the public for now. He however, appealed to all Ghanaians to help remove these irresponsible,

incompetent, thieving, and organized criminals from leading our country.

Some of the NPP supporters asked the honorable MP questions ranging from the economy to morality,

health, education, national pride, corruption and others. They all implored the MP and his team to work

harder alongside Nana Addo to win power and make Ghana great again. They advised party leadership

to remain resolute and avoid petty squabbles because the country will not forgive them if they fail to

deliver Ghanaians from the hands these nation wreckers. Many of them shouted “make Ghana great

again!
