Ghana will showcase its rich culture and tourism potential in the metro Washington DC area in the United States on October 8, 2016.

For the second time, US-Ghana relations will be highlighted with pageantry, and young Ghanaian women will represent all the 10 regions in Ghana.

Kwame Boakye-Danquah, Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Tourist Coach (GTC), organizers of Miss Ghana Tourism USA pageant, is excited, saying that though the first edition of the contest took place last year, this is the first time the event has been given an international twist.

According to Boakye-Dankwa, US government officials, private sector stakeholders, and the diplomatic community will be part of this exhibition of Ghanaian beauty, and intelligent presentations from participants. "We believe this will afford us the opportunity to showcase Ghana's rich cultural diversity and tourist destinations to an international audience, our primary motive is to generate interest in the international community aimed at promoting tourism".

"It is also intended to provide an avenue for young people born in the US to Ghanaian parents to develop affinity to the homeland, this will pave the way for them to contribute to our country's development", Boakye-Danquah explained.

The ceremony will be co-hosted by Ama K Abebrese, a celebrated Ghanaian presenter and actress, Harry Agyeman, and Adwoa Ohene. Artists Steve Bedi, Barosky, Annista Afriyie, Nana Quame and John Germain will also perform at the event.

"We are on course to promoting tourism in Ghana and we invite all to be part of this beautiful collaboration to help our country ", the organizers added.
