Money transfer made easy with PayAfrique

A UK-based company has developed a hassle-free way to send money to loved ones and businesses day or night.

PayAfrique.com uses mobile technology to transfer funds from the UK and mainland Europe to countries in West and East Africa.

Traditional money transfer companies can only remit money during banking hours and clearing funds through banks can take up to five days.

With PayAfrique.com’s online money transfer service, senders with Internet access and an online bank account can make transactions 24/7 from the comfort of their home.

Transactions authorised by 4pm on a week day will be delivered the same day. Weekend transactions are processed on Monday.

“The advantage of this mobile technology is its flexibility,” said PayAfrique.com founder Stanley Blankson Jnr. “In today’s time-poor society, having dedicated hours to be able to send money abroad as well as juggling family life and work can be a challenge. Using our mobile technology takes only a few minutes and funds can be sent long after traditional banks have closed their doors for the day.”

Registration is free and once the amount is entered online, along with the beneficiary details and the payment made and approved, the transaction is complete.

PayAfrique.com operates in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Kenya and several other African countries. In Ghana, beneficiaries receive mobile phone notifications to collect the money at any one of the 600+ registered TIGO Cash agents.

Recipients in Sierra Leone can withdraw funds via SPLASH Mobile Money agents. The company provides mobile AIRTIME topup services across Africa.

The direct nature of the service makes PayAfrique.com competitive compared to other more traditional money sender companies.

“The amount we charge for each transaction depends on the amount that you send but starts from as little as £2.99,” said Blankson.

Recipients receive the cash free of charge but just like traditional money transfer services, they need to show ID.

“Mobile money transfer is one of the most convenient ways to send money to countries in Africa,” said Blankson. “With access to mobile phones on the increase, people living in even the most remote of areas can be reached.”
