The NDC China has successfully held its congress and sworn in new executives for four years term.This was the first of its kind for such a gigantic congress to be held in China.
The congress was graced by her excellency, the Ambassador to China Mrs. Helen Mamle Kofi,Mr Kofi Attor of NDC head quaters incharge of international relations,Hon. Deputy minister for finance and Mr Obed Karl Buah, assistant honorary consul Hongkong.
The new executives sworn in were:
Chairman: Mr. Onyame Daniel
Vice Chairperson: Miss Sandra Kpedor
Secretary:Mr. Maxwell Mantey Akpeh
Propaganda Sec:Mr.Sulemana A. Hanan
After the swearing of the new executives,Her excellency, the Ambassador to China,Mrs. Helen Mamle,gave some advice to the new executives.She siad that the new executives should make it a duty to mobilize and work hard as a team through joint projects in order to have a united front and not become complacent in performing their duties.
She said also that,the new executives have a critical role to play to ensure that the chapter succeeds .That the executives should not just be interested in leadership positions,but work harder and serve the interest of the party and those who bestowed upon them the mandate to rule.She emphasised that all members should support the new executives and not leave them alone.
The chairman, in his acceptance speech, thanked delegates for the support and trust bestowed upon him as a chairman.He assured members that he would work hard to make the chapter a viable force.He added that he would team up with the executives to fashion out programs and strategies to attract more and more members to join NDC.
Mr.Kofi Attor on his part,took members through the history of NDC and mentioned that currently NDC has 14 chapters around the world.That NDC china is the 14th amongst them.He did not stop there but added some wise coucils for admiration of all. He identified three key areas which the executives should tackle.
1. The duty to expand-the executives should strive hard and deepen membership drive.
2. The will to make contributions either in cash or in kind
3. Meeting regularly.
The congress ended with alot of fanfare.Members went gaga dancing to the NDC hit songs.
