The NDC Nordic (Sweden & Finland) Branch had its local congress at the weekend in Stockholm. The meeting was chaired by the Branch 's Chairman Micah Kissi . He said they would have liked to be present at the forthcoming National Delegates Congress on December 21 but due to unforeseen circumstances have taken up the option to vote by Proxy if that is accepted by the National Executive Committee.
Among issues discussed was the task ahead the party to choose either a Presidential candidate at the National delegates congress . This was peacefully and democratically done hoping the same spirit would prevail come Saturday. For that matter a Solidarity Message was agreed upon to the leadership, the aspiring presidential candidates, delegates to the congress and the entire membership of the party.

"All too soon, it is time for another period of renewal in our great party. A renewal that see put to the forefront the ideals of the National Democratic Congress.
A renewal that see us underline the deep bond of unity and nation building that we share.
And a renewal that see us elect a flag bearer to lead us to the 2004 general election.
The Nordic Branch of the NDC salutes the efforts of the Presidential Candidates, National Executive Committee, Council of Elders of the party, The Founder, the Chairman, the General Secretary, Regional Chairpersons, the Constituency Executives and all office holders who have worked hard under difficult circumstances for this period of renewal in the NDC. The Nordic branch of this great party pledges to work hard for the party and the candidate who gets the thumbs up for this period of renewal. When we wage war on each other, the end result would be cataclysmic. Cataclysmic because war does not determine who is right but rather who is left behind. We need everybody in the party. Whoever falls, it is incumbent on all sons and daughters of the NDC to pick that fellow up.
Let us treat each other with respect and be our brother’s keeper.That would ensure that our unity is intact whoever emerges as the flag bearer.
Again, the Nordic branch pledges her unequivocal support for the party and the candidate that is elected flag bearer.
