Bright Bansah
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed Bright Bansah as Deputy Coordinator for Research and Communication for the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) in the United States.
The latest appointment by the Party is aimed at expanding its influence and mobilizing its diaspora base and comes at a time when the NDC is continuing to drum home its vision to the electorate ahead of the 2024 elections.
Bansah, a longstanding member of the NDC, expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity, highlighting the party's commitment to youth engagement and the diaspora's role in shaping Ghana’s future.
Taking to his Facebook page to announce the appointment, he said, “I am pleased to announce that I have accepted the appointment as Deputy Coordinator (Research and Communication) for the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the United States.”
In this role, he said “I will work to advance the NDC’s agenda of promoting economic prosperity for Ghanaians by addressing poverty, tackling environmental injustices, and restoring Ghana’s standing on the global stage.”
He specifically acknowledged the efforts of Emmanuel Issah Abudu, the Youth Organizer of the NDC USA Chapter, whose leadership was instrumental in establishing the first-ever TEIN chapter in the U.S., a breakthrough in the party's efforts to connect with Ghanaian students abroad.
As Deputy Coordinator, Bansah will be part of a core team of young leaders, including Atta Debrah Augustine, Abdul Rafiu Haruna Qamara, Bless Ansah Antwi, and Gifty Annan Anobil.
Together, he indicated in an interview that they aim to advance the NDC’s policy agenda, focusing on economic revitalization, poverty alleviation, climate action, and restoring Ghana's reputation on the global stage.
Their efforts are expected to galvanize the support of the Ghanaian diaspora, a crucial constituency in the party's electoral strategy.
The announcement of Bansah’s appointment was attended by top party officials, including NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, demonstrating the party's emphasis on engaging youth leadership within the diaspora.
Bansah's team is expected to play a critical role in supporting the NDC's vision of creating a 24-hour economy in Ghana, a foundation of its 2024 campaign platform.
