Mr Alhassan Yakubu Talli,chairman of the New Patriotic Party[NPP] in Nordrhein-Westphalen has made known his intention to contest in 2012 election for the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.
The announcement came when Mr Ahassan Talli, son of the late Tolon Naa Alhaji Yakubu Talli was formally introduced to Nana Akuffo Addo and Former President Kuffour in Berlin recently.
In his introductory remarks, Mr Dwamena Yeboah National chairman NPP-Germany noted that Mr Alhassan has been a very active member of the party holding both the positions of Regional chairman as well as the Acting PRO of the Germany Branch.
According to Mr Yeboah, the party has recognised the role Mr Alhassan who together with other executives of NRW chapter are working hard to spread the aims and ideals of the party in the most populous state in the German Republic.
He assured Mr Alhassan Talli that the Germany Branch would assist him with the needed support to ensure victory adding ‘You are one of us and your victory is our victory’
In response, Mr Alhassan Talli thanked former President Kuffour for his immense contribution to the development of Ghana and said Ghana was a much better under President Kuffour because of his visionary leadership.
He congratulated Nana Akuffo Addo on his election as Flag Bearer and gave the assurance that the Germany Branch would do what it can to ensure victory in 2012.
Mr Alhassan Talli pointed out that Tolon voted massively for Nana Addo in the August election and said this trend would be repeated in 2012.
He stated that the Tolon has remained underdeveloped and lacks basic amenities because their elected representatives did not have the vision,the plan and programmes to move the constituency forward.
Mr Alhassan who holds an MBA and an Investment Banker by profession made it clear his intention to contest for the seat is motivated by his desire to serve his people and also ensure that Tolon gets its fair share of the national cake.
He disclosed that when elected he would leave no stone unturned in sourcing for funding to undertake development project throughout the constituency.
Mr Alhassan Talli thanked the Germany Branch for their support and promised he would not let them down.
