NPP-DENMARK: CONGRATULATIONS, MR PRESIDENT-ELECT!!
NPP-Denmark wishes to congratulate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for emerging decisively victorious over the sitting president, H.E. John Mahama in a hard fought battle of the just concluded December 7, 2016 elections. We wish to thank H.E. President John Mahama for his gracious concession, which has secured the peace and deepened Ghana’s enviable democratic credentials. We again thank the people of Ghana for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves throughout the whole exercise especially during the tense moments when they were anxiously waiting for the results to be declared by the Electoral Commission. Indeed, ours is a maturing democracy and Ghanaians everywhere are very proud about this latest achievement of our democratic development.
Sir, we in Denmark are particularly thrilled at the huge margin of your victory and the overwhelming majority seats the party has won to form the next parliament. This is a massive endorsement of the many brilliant policies you expounded on the campaign trail. Thus a high level performance is to be expected from you by Ghanaians. NPP-Denmark however strongly believes in you and your team’s capacity to live up to the high expectation of Ghanaians by working hard to build a thriving economy; bring down corruption, which has become an existential threat to our nation, to a barest minimum; and a meritorious society where hard work and playing by the rules can enable every Ghanaian to achieve his/her dreams. Fortunately, NPP and Ghana are endowed with many talented men and women both home and abroad who are ready, willing and thus can be called upon to help in executing your agenda and vision for the country.
Sir, yours has been a long and arduous journey to the presidency. Your resilience, tenacity, discipline and the unshakable belief in the can-do spirit of the Ghanaian along this journey is very inspiring and worth emulating. NPP-Denmark strongly believes that you have not come this far to disappoint the nation and that these aforementioned qualities will bear strongly on your government. We also hope you will have a big heart for honest critiques/feedbacks, irrespective of where they may come from, to ensure continuous improvement. We have no doubt that your leadership will be that of purpose driven, performance oriented and principles-led that will greatly help in positioning Ghana towards real progress and prosperity.
We thank God for listening to the cries of Ghanaians for change. The battle indeed is the lord’s. May the good Lord grant you wisdom, strength and guidance as you embark on the daunting but surmountable task of transforming our country. We wish you the very best, Sir.
