The Germany Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has over the weekend held a meeting to discuss and come out with strategies that can help win the 2016 Parliamentary and Presidential elections.
The meeting which was attended by Regional Organizers, Chapter Organizers, Women´s Organizers and Youth Organizers forms part of efforts by the newly elected executives to re-organize, rebrand and prepare the party in readiness for 2016.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Kwaku Anane-Gyinde, National Organizer of NPP-Germany reminded all party activists that the success and strength of the party would to a very large extent depend on the ability to organize and mobilize both human and material resources adding “ effective organization is key and it is what would determine our victory in 2016”
According to him, eight out of every ten Ghanaians resident in Germany is a sympathizer of the NPP hence there is the need to find creative and innovative ways of attracting such people into the Party. He added that as part of the recruitment and membership drive campaign, every organizer has been tasked to recruit at least one new member every month for the next two years.
He urged the organizers to be good ambassadors of the party in their conduct and how they relate to other people who may not necessarily agree or share their views saying “a friend is an enemy waiting to be convinced to your line of thinking.”
Mr. Anane-Gyinde stated that the high level of corruption and the incompetence of the Mahama government has plunged the country into very serious crisis and the only way to save Ghana from further economic decline and potential political unrest is to unseat the government in 2016.
He noted that as the biggest political party in Ghana with the best policies and programs, Ghanaians expect the NPP to come to the rescue and said it is a duty which the party owes to itself, the people of Ghana and generations yet unborn.
The National Organizer assured the gathering that the discussions and decisions arrived at during the meeting would be incorporated into a comprehensive program of activities that would soon be unveiled and serve as blue print for the two years ahead.
Most of the organizers expressed concerned about some utterances by certain leading members of the party in recent times and noted that such pronouncements make membership drive very difficult.
