.....call on EC to come clear on stl.
There is no doubt about the contradictions in the political and social space of Ghana about what exactly is the engagement between the Electoral Commission a body mandated by the Constitution of our mother Ghana to be the independent Elections Management Body and STL, an Israeli company in the IT industry. We are therefore compelled to add our voices to the numerous call by our mother party and other stakeholders like CODEO for the EC to come clear on what particularly is the type of engagement that they have with this IT Company.
We think this is absolutely vital in the democratic consolidation of our Nation and also because of palpable conflicts on the matter as have come from the immediate past Chairman of the EC Dr Afari Gyan and The Current Interior Minister Prosper Bani.
There is also no doubt that the tainted nature of the 2012 elections still lives in the minds of Ghanaians. The incompetence of the Mahama Administration which is clear in their unassailable trajectory of worsening the plights of Ghanaians is a clear testimony of how Elections can make or break a nation. From where we sit as a group we are privy to the wind of Change that is blowing in Ghana; a change that will usher the aspirations of the Ghanaian youth from hopelessness to the fulfilment of their dreams of a better life so as to take the mantle of the next generation.
In this age where Elections could be rigged by a click this IT company’s existence in the electoral democracy of our nation needs to clarified especially going into the 2016 crucial bout where change must be effected by all means because the Evidence abounds.
President Mahama’s inordinate desire to perpetuate his failed rule by every means is also not in question because in the wake of mismanagement of our economy in the form of excessive borrowing, ballooning budget deficits, depreciating of the Cedi relative to major currencies etc. which has even sent the governor of the central bank packing as well as Massive Corruption in scandals in GYEEDA, SADA, WOYOME, SMARTYS inter alia, he goes about pontificating of a sure victory in the November Polls; a characteristic that ultimately led to his supposed victory in 2012. The NDC has proven historically to be only concerned about Elections not the things that happen beyond that which is management of our resources for the public good.
The Interior Minister’s statement is a serious one especially one that sought to lay solid foundations of reason why the three South African Security Experts who were brought in lawfully to train the security detail of our Presidential Candidate and Vice Presidential Candidate were deported.
We call on the EC to as a matter of urgency and in an effort to salvage their own progressively depleting image to make known to the public the contractual agreement that exists between it and STL a company at the centre of controversy.
We remind once again all Ghanaians about the crucial nature of the 2016 elections. The NDC is desperate, they are scheming to hold onto power. For us we think this election as about the youth and our future. An Akufo Addo Presidency we are confident will expand the frontiers of the Ghanaian Economy to ensure Jobs, Jobs and Jobs. But this can only happen through a credible elections.
…….The End………..
