A distinguished Ghanaian musician and dancer of international repute Emmanuel Opoku, will be the guest of Ghanaians living abroad, especially UK, for this year’s Independence bash.

He will be on stage and rattle the national anthem instead of the recorded version as Ghana celebrate her 51st Independence celebration.

Come Thursday, March 6, some of the nation’s finest musicians in the “LIFES” – Hiplife/Highlife genre — would be mounting the stage to thrill fans.

The annual number one entertainment fiesta is organised by Allodia Promotion and is expected to attract a large number of Ghanaians and other nationals of the West African sub-region domiciled in the UK.

This year’s independence celebration really presents an exciting package for hiplife and highlife music lovers in UK who could not come to Ghana for the Christmas and Ghana CAN 2008 African Cup of Nations tournament.

Taking the centre stage and by popular request the latest icon on the scene, a dancer-cum-singer Emmanuel Opoku will be the major-domo.

He is expected to perform live and at the same time sing the national anthem live alongside other seasoned musicians.

According to the organisers, this year’s event has been declared “Mother of all Independence Bash” and it is expected to attract a huge audience cut across all spheres. He said the artistes too would blend popular local and international music with special guests coming to grace the occasion.

Describing what patrons should expect, he said, “This is a well-planned celebration and it is going to be big and infectious, trust me”.
