Providence Center For Humanity International, Inc., proudly announces its Second Annual HIV/AIDS Awareness and Faith/Prayer Dinner to benefit Ghana, Africa
This year?s event will be held at Hostos Community College, Bronx New York. The Esteemed Drs. Manny Tuffour, Benjamen Dodoo, Roy Streete will be honored, and Honorable Mr. Jose Ferrer ~ Former Bronx Borough President and Mayoral Candidate ~ will be the Honorary Chairman.
The Hon. Amo Adjepong, President and Founder of Providence Center For Humanity, announced the organization?s Second Annual gala, HIV/AIDS Awareness and Faith/Prayer dinner?, to be held July 1,2005 at Hostos Community College, 500 Grand Concourse, Bronx New York, beginning at 6:00 pm. This event is the organization?s opportunity to honor those who have participated in Providence?s HIV/AIDS advocacy programs in Ghana through out the years, update supporters to the progress made, and raise funds for future endeavors.
The gala will be kicked-off with a Reception at 6pm, followed by a great and stimulating evening of informational addresses, dinner and of course, Prayers and dancing. This year?s event will Honor Dr. Manny Tuffor proprietor of Aniwa Hospital in Kumasi, Ghana and Dr. Dodoo whose clinic is located in Yonkers, New York, for their tireless efforts in aiding Ghanaians. Providence?s ?life blood? is the volunteers that give their time and energies every year for our programs in Ghana.
This year we will hear from Ms. Debra Wornick- Certified HIV/AIDS counselor- whom was a major force on our annual medical trip to Ghana August 2004. Beginning in April of 2003, Providence has been on the ground in Ghana Africa, making a ?quiet? noise. To broaden HIV/AIDS advocacy and education as well as basic health initiatives including TB, malaria, and dental screenings, Providence dispatches over 30 healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, and social workers) in conjunction with Dr. Roy Street of the Organization for International Development (OID).
Providence has maintained quality and expanded our mission with the support of the Local Union 371 and Mr. Charles Ensley, Ghana Nurses Association in New York, St, Mary Margaret Catholic Church, the Church of the Pentecost, Ghana Methodist Church, The Assanteman Association, and the National Council of Ghanaian Associations, and many others. To date, coupled with the medical care and free male and female condoms; Providence?s donations to health centers of hospital beds, medicines, latex gloves, disposable syringes, and other hospital supplies. This has made a positive impact in Bolgatanga, Accra, Kumasi, Boaman, Offinso, Cape Coast, and Bekwai, as well as garnered acclaim as on of the countries best HIV/AIDS programs by the Ghana AIDS Commission.
