RE: Ghana Highcommissioner Living Like A King

Fri, 19 Nov 2010 Source: Samson Frimpong

It sounds very interesting; another intellectual has found it necessary to comment on Abdul Mohammed’s article.

What sort of society are we building for ourselves? Anytime an attempt is made to expose corruption, the like of Dr Akwetey comes out from the woodwork.

As an intellectual I your article was in bad taste and biased, people like you should not hold any position, because you will perform badly, it feels like you don’t have paternal feeling for our dear country Ghana

First of all let’s look at the points that Dr Lawrence Akwetey raised

Point one

He questioned Abdul Mohammed’s command of the English language; this is a comment from Angel, one of the numerous commentators on Dr Lawrence Akweteys article and I QUOTE

ANOTHER SLAVE MENTALISTIC FELLOW.IT IS ABOUT THE ISSUES RAISED NOT BLINKING ENGLISH LANGUAGE .GO TELL THE IRANAIAN .LIBYAN HEADS OF STATES TO SPEAK ENGLISH.MOHAMMED IS A GHANAIAN AND TO ME IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SORT OF ENGLISH .THERE SHOULD BE INVISTIGATION ABOUT THE ISSUES RAISED BY MOHAMMED BECAUSE SO MANY NOBLE GHANAIANS IN THE UK SHARE THE SAME VIEW.IF THAT STUPID FOOL WHO WROTE THIS ARTICLE IS INDEED A LECTURER HE SHOULD GO AND LECTURER IN GHANA AND STOP WRITING SILLY ARTICLES.

First of all, were on earth did Dr Lawrence Akwetey get his facts and when did English language became a prerequisite for exposing corruption.

Abdul Mohammed alleged that

The high commissioner is living like a king and these were his reasons

The High Commissioner has employed

• A butler from Ghana

• An employee for ordinary clerical service from Ghana

• Two drivers recruited from Ghana

• The High Commission took a flight to Edinburgh airport from London and asked his driver to drive his car from London and meet him at Edinburgh airport, what a waste of tax payer’s money.

• Over 50 diplomats at the Ghana High Commission

Dr Lawrence Akwetey, as an economist if you see nothing wrong with these allegations, then Ghanaians are doomed. In my creed, waste of public money is like a sin against the HOLY SPIRIT

Dr Lawrence Akwetey when did you become a private investigator, and who employed you to act on behalf of Ghana High Commission, are you the spokesman for the High Commissioner who is living like a KING, can’t he come out and speak for himself. Dr Lawrence Akwetey, keep your credentials to yourself, Ghanaians are fed up with bootlickers like your type jumping to defend the High Commission proves that what ABDUL MOHAMMED alleged is true yourself and the High Commisioner , I smell are panicking.

Let me sound a word of caution to the likes of Dr Lawrence Akwetey and Prof Kwaku Danso Boafo

EVEN IF ONE OF THESE ALLEGATIONS RAISED BY ABDUL MOHAMMED IS TRUE, THEN THE HIGHCOMMISIONER IS A DISGRACE TO GHANAIANS AND NEEDS TO GO BACK TO GHANA AND LEARN WHAT WE CALL AUSTERITY.

Dr Lawrence Akwetey do you live in United Kingdom if yes , then you need to learn what is called sincerity and abide by it, look around you, the world is changing and we need to be accountable?

I will try and publish in one of the Ghanaian newspapers and your likes will see the euphoria that this will generate.

I am pleading with the President Prof John Evans Atta-Mills and the Minister for Foreign Affairs to use their good office and ensure that issue is investigated as soon as possible , so that the likes of Dr Lawrence Akwetey will not throw dust into our eyes .Please Dr Akwetey never for a minute doubt that Ghanaians are fools, all that your article expressed was the duties of the High Commissioner and that is what he is paid for, Abdul Mohammed’s assertion has exposed the High Commissioner and we the taxpayer are very much concern .
