'Reckless' NDC should stop attacking EC boss - NPP Diaspora

A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicators in the diaspora has taken the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the cleaners for constantly attacking the Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensa.

Leader of the group and Deputy Communications Director of NPP-UK, Mr. Kweku Bimpeh described the attacks on the EC boss by the NDC as unfair and dangerous for the country.

The EC he stated is an independent body working in accordance with the law hence cannot be intimidated or pushed around.

Mr. Kweku Bimpeh advised the NDC to stop attacking the integrity of the EC chair and allow her to discharge her duties in the interest of the state.

The NDC he said must act responsibly, desist from comments that will threaten the peace and stability of the country.

He recounted previous comments made by former president John Mahama when the NPP hade issues with former EC boss Charlotte Osei on the need to allow the EC to work because it was independent.

To him, the NDC must learn their lessons and allow the EC to work as enshrined in the constitution.

Mr. Kweku Bimpeh also expressed disappointment in the NDC for asking their members to boycott the registration exercise.

This he opined shows political immaturity.

The decision to compile a new register he stated is the best option because the existing register is not credible.

He further took Pastor Kwabena Agyei to the cleaners over his recent threats on the EC chair.

He said the pastor was reckless and irresponsible despite having reservations about the compilation of the new register.

The man of God could have expressed his opinion in a more responsible manner compared to what he did, he added.

The law he concluded must deal with the man of God over his comments.
