Ghana’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Said Sinare, has announced a positive breakthrough following diplomatic engagements aimed at addressing the welfare of Ghanaian nationals in Bahrain.

According to the ambassador, he paid a courtesy call on the Bahraini Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ali Bin AbdulRahman Bin Ali Al Khalifa, where he formally appealed for total amnesty for Ghanaians in Bahrain who wish to return home.

The engagement, he noted, focused on the protection and well-being of Ghanaian citizens, describing it as a matter of deep national concern.

Ambassador Sinare disclosed that “the appeal received immediate and positive consideration, a development he says brings hope and relief to affected individuals and their families.”

He expressed appreciation to the government of Bahrain for what he described as “a humane and compassionate response,” emphasising that the outcome reflects the strength of diplomatic relations and Ghana’s commitment to protecting its citizens abroad.

Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana, Said Sinare reaffirmed the government’s dedication to ensuring the safety, dignity, and welfare of Ghanaians wherever they may be.

The development underscores ongoing diplomatic efforts by Ghana’s mission in Saudi Arabia to support citizens beyond the country’s borders and strengthen international cooperation.
