Noviha UK, a charitable welfare association based in London, has given scholarships to three boys and three girls at Keta Secondary School. The beneficiaries are Cecilia Tornyewonya from Keta, Mavis Avornor from Tregui, Vida Kpodo from Woe, Wisdom Avuletey from Anlo-Afiadenyigba, Emmanuel Hlortsi from Atiteti and Ernest Agbemable from Devego. They were selected following a stringent application procedure to identify bright pupils with poor parentage. Each scholarship is worth six million cedis per year for the three years of their Senior Secondary School education. It is planned that this initiative will be extended to pupils in other Secondary Schools in the Volta Region in the future.
At the presentation ceremony attended by the lucky pupils, their parents/carers and local dignitaries, Noviha UK was represented by Mr Philip Mortoo ? Treasurer, Ms Grace Deyegbe ? Vice President and Mr Chris Keteku ? member.
The Headmaster of Keta Secondary School, Mr Gbagbo, expressed his delight for the lucky pupils and praised Noviha UK for their selfless patriotism and vision.
