Network’s co-sponsorship of The New Ghanaian 10th Anniversary Banquet and
Award*s* Night to be held at 7pm on Saturday November 19th, 2011, at the
Springfield Hilton Hotel in Alexandria Virginia. The monumental occasion
celebrates the 10 years of Excellent Service to the Ghanaian & African
community and will be graced by His Excellency Kabral Blay-Amihere, Ghana’s
Media Commissioner and former Ambassador to Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone.
The New Ghanaian newspaper was launched at the Ghana Embassy, Washington
DC, in November 2001 with the purpose of serving, uplifting and inspiring
Ghanaians abroad. Since its inception, the free newspaper has expanded to
reach Ghanaians in the Washington Metro area and beyond. The New Ghanaian
newspaper is the premier Ghanaian monthly and is considered one of the
leading papers covering issues pertaining to Ghana in the United States and
beyond.
“After 10 years of community service, it is fitting to share our milestone

Vanderpuye, the founder and current publisher of the newspaper announced.
The New Ghanaian newspaper has covered government transitions and
elections, educated the public on political and educational issues and
risen above and beyond in building, bridging and fostering relationships
