A leading member of the Germany Branch of the New Patriotic Party[NPP] has stated that the party will focus on issues that are relevant to national development, unity and cohesion instead of the politics of insults that has become the trade mark of the ruling National Democratic Congress[NDC].

Speaking on Kingdom FM , a Stuttgart based radio station, Mr Kwaku Anane-Gyinde, Director of Communications, NPP-Germany pointed out that the issues that are of immediate concern to most Ghanaians are the lack of jobs for the teaming youth, the high cost of living, the inability of parent s to pay school fees ,persistent gas, water and power shortages, massive corruption in government circles and the general lack of leadership and direction in the country. The situation is further worsened by government failure to deliver on the numerous promises made to Ghanaians in 2008 he added.

According to him meeting the needs and aspiration of Ghanaian will be the focus and pre-occupation of the party in the run-up to the 2012 elections. The party will therefore direct its energy and attention towards job creation , the provision of quality and relevant education, the modernization of Agriculture and turning Ghana into industrialised country so as to be able to compete in the global market. He said ‘These are the issues that should engage our attention as a country and the NPP is determined to focus on them by providing alternative policies and programmes as against the failed and discredited promises of the NDC’.

Mr Anane-Gyinde was however quick to point out that while the NPP intend to concentrate on informing and educating Ghanaians on the party’s strategy for moving Ghana forward, it will not countenance any attempt by what he termed as rift-rafts and charlatans to malign and denigrate its leadership particularly the flag bearer..’Yes, we will conduct our campaign with civility ,decency and respect but we will not hesitate to exercise our right of reply and we will do so appropriately and in kind’ he emphasized.

He warned that the greatest threat to peace and stability in Ghana is the failure of the Mills-Mahama administration to meet the basic needs of the ordinary Ghanaian while government and party officials continue to amass wealth on daily basis. This, he insisted had led to anger ,disaffection and disenchantment towards the NDC government which is seen by most Ghanaians as a failure and are now looking up to the NPP to come up with a rescue plan to salvage our country after 2012.

Mr Anane-Gyinde disclosed that a seven-member communication Team has been set up to inform, educate and explain the vision of Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP to Ghanaians both home and abroad.Members of the Communication Team include Mr Kwaku Anane-Gyinde as the Director, Mrs Christabell Kofie-Deputy Director,Mr Charles Ankamah-Member and Mr Isaac Aboagye-Danso-Member.
