Fomena (Ash), Dec 19, GNA - The Adansiman Association in Great Britain and Ireland has appealed to the Adansi Traditional Council at Fomena in the Adansi North district of Ashanti, to as a matter of urgency find solutions to the numerous chieftaincy disputes that have crippled the development of the Adansi State.

Mr Michael Boye Anawomah, the President of the association who made the appeal at Fomena on Saturday, said the disputes needed to be addressed to pave way for the installation of the divisional chiefs of Ayaase, Dompoase, Akrokerri and Akrofuom.

Mr Anawomah, accompanied by Mr John A. Kuttin, an association member, was at the Fomena Bonsra Afriyie palace to extend the association's condolences to the Council on the death of the Adansihene, Nana Ofori Agyeman II.

The late Adansihene, who is yet to be buried, died on July 15, 2005 after a short illness. He reigned for six years.

Mr. Anawomak, on behalf of the association donated two bottles of schnapps, two cartons of beer, one crate of minerals and a cash of 20 million cedis towards the burial ceremony. They also signed the book of condolence in honour of the departed Omanhene.

Mr Anawomah, a former mayor of the London Borough of Islington, indicated that the association had placed the care and well-being of the Adansi State as its utmost priority.

He pledged the association's commitment to the development of the State, stressing that their first plan was to create a scholarship scheme to support school children at home.

Nana Assiamah Guahyia Ababio, acting President of the Adansi Traditional Council, expressed appreciation for the good intentions of the association and the donation and gave the assurance that the Council would organise a befitting funeral to honour the late Adansihene. He said the Council would explore avenues that would help cement an effective collaboration with the association to facilitate the development of the Adansi area.

Nana Assiama Ababio encouraged them to form a strong and united association so that they could meaningfully support development at home.
