The President of the Ave Foundation, a Canadian based non-governmental organization, Torgbui Dunyo Hodzi IV has called on parents in the Ave Traditional Area to invest more in their children's education, which he noted was the best legacy that they could leave for them.
He stressed the need for the people to embrace teachers as well as to accord them the maximum respect and support, saying that any negative practices against them would directly affect the future of their wards because the teachers would not be able to give off their best.
Torgbui Dunyo Hodzi, who is also the Chief of Ave-Atanve assured the parents that his organization would continue to play a crucial role in the promotion of education in the area and reminded parents that even though the organization was helping to promote the cause of education in the area much more depend on them.
He said the Ave Foundation has drawn up a long-term programme to equip school in Ave area with modern teaching and learning materials and also to help on school infrastructure to make the school environment more attractive and interesting to children.
Torgbui Dunyo Hodzi expressed concern about the long distances pupils and students walked daily to school which he noted ranged between four kilometers and seven as it makes the children tired adding that most of these students and pupils could not learn due to the situation over the years.
The President of the Ave Foundation therefore presented a 23 seater bus at the cost of 60 million cedis to schools in the area on behalf of the Foundation to be used in transporting students and pupils who travel long distances to and back from school.
Torgbui Dunyo Hodzi also donated computers and accessories, printers and textbooks to schools in the Ave area at the cost of 240 million cedis to enable the students and pupils to be abreast with modern information communication technology as being enjoyed by other children in some parts of the country.
The Ave Foundation also presented a number of bicycles to teachers in the areas as an intervention to address the problem of transportation facing teachers as a result of the long distances they travel before going to school.
He also disclosed that the Foundation has established a kindergarten at Ave-Atanve and would be responsible for the payment of salaries for teachers until the government absorbs it as a contribution to early childhood development.

Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, the Head teacher of the Ave-Atanve L.A. Primary School, Mr. Zidah Tohadzi thanked the Ave Foundation for the gesture and promised that the items would be put to good use.
