Ghanaian-British care worker recognised for service at UK care centre

A Ghanaian-British citizen, Eliyasu Moro, has been recognised in the United Kingdom for his work at a dementia care centre in Westminster, London.

Moro, who is the manager of Westbourne Park Day Centre, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from City and County Care Group in recognition of his service to the organisation and its clients.

He was nominated for the award by colleagues and clients, with the nominations assessed before the final selection.

Moro, also known as “Oluman”, has worked in the UK care sector and currently oversees the Westbourne Park Day Centre, which specialises in supporting people living with dementia.

The award was presented at a ceremony in the UK, where Moro received applause and a standing ovation from attendees.

Moro was born and raised in Nima, Accra, and attended Accra Academy Senior High School before relocating to the UK for further education.

His recognition has also attracted attention among Ghanaians in the UK and on social media, with reactions highlighting his career in the care sector.

The award adds to Moro’s professional recognition for his work supporting clients at the care centre.
