Ministers, Leaders and Organizational Leaders of all Ghana Methodists Congregations in North America will hold a Mini-Conference in Maryland from December 2nd to 4th 2011. Called specifically by the Supervising Mission Co-ordinator, Rt. Rev. B.K. Asare, this Conference is under the theme “UNITY AND RECONCILIATION”.

The Programme for the Conference includes a Meeting for Clergy and one for Lay scheduled for the first day and an Address by the Supervising Mission Co-ordinator , a Presentation on The Methodist Church Ghana Policy Document for Mission Work in North America among others will occupy Participants for the most part of the Saturday.

Most importantly there are plans to set up the Administrative Structures of the Methodist Churches in North America at this Conference and with it a comprehensive look at “The Way Forward: Ways of Strengthening Ghanaian Methodist Churches in North America, and reaching out to Ghanaian Methodists in other denominations”.

As with every viable Conference, Participants will engage in serious discussions and reports will be received as efforts are made to bring unity and reconciliation and prepare the ground for the creation of a Diocese of The Methodist Church Ghana in North America.

The Conference will be climaxed by a Divine Service at which the Supervising Mission Co-ordinator will also be formally welcomed to the North America Mission. It is expected that all of Ghana Methodist leanings in North America would be represented and that a consensus backed by law would be reached for the mission of the Church to succeed on the Continent and even beyond.

Mission Lay Chairman and member of the Mini-Conference Planning Committee, Bro. Joseph Baffour Amoateng told this Reporter that over 100 Participants from some thirty-seven [37] Ghana Methodist Congregations all over North America are expected to attend the Conference. He added “Preparations have been thorough and are complete to ensure that the Conference is successful. Every detail has been taken care of all Participants’ comfort. All Participants are welcome to 4-H Conference Centre, Chevy Chase, Maryland. We look forward to welcoming all Participants.”

He hinted also that a Choral Concert featuring all Ghana Methodist Choirs in the Washington Metropolitan Area will be held on Saturday December 3rd 2011 from 7pm to 10.30pm. It is open to all resident in that area and will be worth the while.
